Established in 2006, Mu Shop is an independent Melbourne retailer specialising in gifts, collectibles, toys, games, and licensed merchandise.

From our stores at Queen Victoria Market and Preston Market, as well as our online store, we source unique and fun products from around Australia and the world to create a memorable shopping experience for customers of all ages.

Our collection includes favourites such as Tintin, Moomin, Miffy, Peanuts, Studio Ghibli, Pokémon, Trollbeads, OHM Beads, Les Néréides jewellery, board games, collectibles, plush toys, and much more. Why "Mu"?

One of the questions we are asked most often is what "Mu" means.

The name comes from the Chinese character 木, pronounced "mù" in Mandarin, meaning wood or timber. Wood is one of the most fundamental materials used throughout history for building, crafting, and creating. It is simple, versatile, and enduring.

When Mu Shop first began, this idea inspired our original store fit-out, which was built almost entirely from timber. Today, the name continues to reflect our appreciation for thoughtful design, craftsmanship, and products chosen to stand the test of time.
